While we may live in the age of information, you, unfortunately, won’t be able to Google what is on your employee’s mind. When your door is always open, it can act as an encouraging symbol that you are available to listen to the issues that are on your staffs’ mind. It also gives you exceptional access to the ideas they have which can be crucial, especially in fast-paced business.
Better Working Relationships
When your employees feel not only able but comfortable to talk to their managers about anything that is affecting them, not only will they feel better about their roles but it will also work to help solidify working relationships which studies have shown can increase productivity.
An open door policy is something that you should seriously consider implementing if you haven’t already. The goal is a manager not to only get the most out of your employees but to also provide them with a healthy and supportive environment that will invariably lead to a greater employee/employer relationship.
