Give Thanks To Your Employees This Holiday Season

Updated: Dec 11, 2023

Most of us work hard. We wake up, we get dressed, we come into work, and we give it our all, and then, we usually do it all over again the next day. However, with the holiday season fast approaching, a time of year to give thanks and reflect on all we have to be thankful for, it is also the ideal time to show your employees just how much they mean to you.

Employees are the backbone of any organization. And while yes, of course, they compensated, when an employer goes above and beyond to show their gratitude, it can work wonders on morale and provide an employee experience that is hard to beat. Which begs the question - how do you thank your staff?

Great question, and one we will answer today. So sit back, grab a pen and paper, and get ready for some great tips on how to give thanks to your employees this holiday season.

While the timeless adage says that the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach, we'd argue that applies doubly to employees. The fact remains that everybody needs to eat lunch, so why not take that opportunity to bring your team together to bond, laugh, and enjoy some good food! While pizza or burgers will usually suffice, you may also want to consider something a little fancier this holiday. Ask your staff how they'd feel about going for dinner, and you may just be surprised at the response.

Most organizations have some systems in place to monitor and check productivity. So this holiday season, why not utilize those numbers and reward your top performers? However, there is a catch. While you certainly want to give recognition to your best staff, you also don't want to leave anyone out. So try and come up with other reasons to reward your staff for things like, "Always on Time," "Best Smile," or even "Cleanest Uniform." Not only are these fun, but they also do wonders to show your teams they are noticed and appreciated.

Get Fit

Fitness is an essential factor of any healthy lifestyle, but have you ever considered it at work? Healthy and active employees are not only happier, but they are also more productive, take less sick days, and typically have a better attitude at work. So try and offer discounted gym memberships to your staff or try and organize group sporting events for your team to partake in and enjoy!

Time off

People work to live, not live to work. So this holiday, you might want to consider giving them what they want - more time with their family. Consider shutting down operations for a few days of the holiday. Not only will this rejuvenate your staff going into the new year, but it also shows the world that you care about your employees and put their well-being first.
